Howells-Dodge Graduation Held May 10

Twenty-four seniors graduated from Howells-Dodge Consolidated High School on Saturday, May 10.  The graduation ceremony began at 5:00 p.m. and was held in the high school gym in Howells.  The processional, "Pomp and Circumstance", was played by Mr. Wayne Molacek as the graduates walked into the gym led by juniors Morgan Baumert and Jesse Faltys.  Candle bearers were Abby Coday, Tami Dostal, Aaron Harter, Shayna Henrickson, Nathan Kathol, Jon Laner, Faith Molacek, Hunter Nathan, Trent Payton, Jessica Shonka, Casey Smith, and Ashley Vanderworker.  Ushers were Seth Novak, Alex Steffensmeier, Lee Vering and Jacob Vogel.  Sophomore gift attendants were Kelly Cech, Kara Brichacek, Shelby Hegemann, and Mallory Rolf.

The welcome was given by Danny Widhelm, senior class vice president.  Principal Mrs. Sarah Edwards introduced the Salutatorian, Amanda Evert, who then spoke to those in attendance.  The Valedictorian, Casey Wisnieski, was introduced by Superintendent Mr. William Kuester.  He then gave his speech.  Scholarship Awards were presented by Mr. Robin Groene, Guidance Counselor.  The seniors presented a flower to their parents as the song, "Never Alone" by Lady Antebellum was played.  A class video presentation created by Emily Brichacek and Jill Rocheford followed.  Diplomas were presented by Mr. Darryl Hegemann, President of the Howells-Dodge School Board.  The closing was given by Amanda Evert, senior class president.

2014 graduates are:  George Trevor Blum, Breanne Marie Brester, Emily Ann Brichacek, Betty Josephine Cech, Brian Joseph Vogel, Ben Hans Vrba, Tiffany Marie Sabey, Amanda Ann Evert, Clinton David Fiala, Ana Noemi Garcia, Leah Nicole Grovijohn, Luke David Hegemann, Tucker Thomas Kulhanek, Michaela Jeanne Lindsay, Devin James Risch, Jillian Marie Rocheford, Benjamin William Kuehn, MaLeaha Annalise Semerad, Marissa Kristine Semerad, Jeffrey James Strake-Miller, Justin Michael Christiansen, Shelby Marie Dirkschneider, Daniel Joseph Widhhelm, and Casey Reynold Wisnieski.  

The class flower is the gerbera daisy.  The class song is "Tattoos on This Town" by Jason Aldean.  The class motto is:  "Strangers of the past, friends of today, as we grasp the future in our special way."  The class colors are gold, black and white.  Class sponsors are Mr. Robin Groene and Mrs. Marla Prusa.
