5th Graders Appreciate Technology Accessibility
The fifth graders recently completed a "different" kind of research project for science class. Each student created a "thinglink" presentation about one of the planets in our solar system using the new Chromebooks that were purchased for our school this year. Students had to research the planet using books from our class library and information from the internet; once their projects were complete, the students presented their findings to the class. The students thoroughly enjoyed creating and presenting their projects!
The Chromebooks are integrated into our classroom studies several times throughout the day. We have access to IXL to practice Language and Math skills. This is a program that the students can also use at home if they have computer/internet access. Another one of the many benefits to having access to the Chromebooks is the opportunity to work in Google Docs. The students enjoy typing out their assignments and sharing them with their teacher via Google Docs. They think it is pretty "awesome" to hand in an assignment online!
