Prom 2015

Before we know it, the H-D 2015 Prom will be here! The Junior and Senior girls have chosen their dresses, and the boys have ordered their tuxes. For those of you who don't know, prom will be Saturday, April 25th at the Dodge Auditorium. The Junior Class and sponsors, Mr. Molacek and Mrs. VanLengen, have been anxiously getting everything ready to hopefully put on a fantastic prom!

Mr. Walburn has requested the following list of Prom Rules and Information be put on the school website so that we are all aware of what rules to expect and other pertinent information, such as an approximate timeline for that oh-so-busy day!

Prom Rules and Information

  1.     Once arrived, no student may leave the banquet or dance early, unless picked up by a parent, and along with a sponsor’s approval.

  1.     All H-D handbook rules governing dress and behavior (language, conflict, etc.) will be enforced.

  1.     Respect for decorations on the tables during the banquet and for any decorations in the auditorium is expected. The Junior Class has spent a lot of money, time, and effort on these. Please respect this, and leave them as they are. (The centerpieces and all decorations on the banquet tables have to be returned.)

  1.        Something new! The Junior Class wanted to have a “candy table” during the dance that will have snacks and, of course, candy! Initially, there was some contention to this because it was said “the kids will throw the candy at each other, etc.” Please prove this assumption wrong and simply eat the snacks and candy, as intended, and properly dispose of any trash.

  1.        All students must avoid dancing styles that involve inappropriate dance moves or any inappropriate contact with others. Any Public Displays of Affection (PDA) is also not allowed.

  1.        The dance is expected to begin at approximately 8:00 p.m. It is open to the public at this time, as there will be a Junior and Senior Promenade, followed by a Parent’s Dance for the Juniors and Seniors and their parents. Following this, all parents and spectators will be asked to leave. The dance will end promptly at 12:00.

  1.        All outside dates must have been pre-approved by the administration prior to their arrival. Anyone who has not been pre-approved will not be allowed to attend the dance.

  1.        All students will take a breathalyzer test before entering. Juniors, Seniors, and Servers will be tested before the banquet. (Doors open at 6:00 / Banquet to begin at approx. 6:30)

  1.        All Freshmen and Sophomores will be breathalyzed before entrance to the dance. (beginning at 7:45 p.m.)

  1. For any Juniors or Seniors who would like to have professional pictures taken, Kevin Gall will be at the Dodge Auditorium at 3:30. **Please allow plenty of time for these pictures, keeping in mind that some students will need to leave to attend Mass at Dodge St. Wenceslaus, which begins at 5:00.
