FCCLA Conducts Seat Belt Survey

Members of the Howells-Dodge FCCLA Chapter held a seat belt survey on Friday, October 19 at the Howells-Dodge Consolidated Schools parking lot from 7:45 – 8:10 a.m.  The members recorded the number of teen drivers and passengers who were wearing their seat belt and those who were not.  81.1% of drivers were wearing seat belts and 18.95 were not.  Of the passengers, 82.4% were wearing seat belts and 17.6% were not.

This survey was done in conjunction with the FCCLA Families Acting For Community Traffic Safety National Program and Teens in the Driver Seat.  Everyone surveyed was given Fruit Roll-ups with the message, “Don’t get rolled up in an accident; Wear your seat belt and drive safely” and other teen driving safety promotional items.

The Howells-Dodge FCCLA Chapter would like to remind everyone to:  buckle up, avoid distractions and cell phones while driving, drive at safe speeds, don’t drink and drive and be extra cautious when driving at night or when tired.
