Students Design Posters for Safe Dates Program

Howells-Dodge students in the Adult Living FCS class recently designed posters for the Safe Dates Poster Contest.  Safe Dates is a curriculum that educates youth and adolescents on how to identify and prevent dating violence. Through ten engaging sessions, students discussed the causes of dating violence, how they can help a friend in an abusive relationship, common stereotypes regarding dating violence, and important prevention techniques.

Winners of the poster contest received prizes courtesy of Jana’s Campaign.  Shown in the photo are Ashley Smith who won first place and $25.  Second place went to Kelci Hansen, who won $15.  Tying for third place were Lupe Curiel and Alyssa Cappellano who received $10.
