FCCLA Members Attend Fall Leadership Workshop

Five FCCLA members from Howells-Dodge Consolidated Schools attended the Nebraska Family, Career, and Community Leaders of America Fall Leadership Workshop in Kearney on Monday, Sept. 9.  This annual event was held at the Younes Conference Center in Kearney, Nebraska and included over 585 students from all corners of Nebraska.  The theme for this year is Fuel Your Passion as Nebraska FCCLA works to provide members with opportunities to discover and find their passion for their future and career.

All students at this event heard from members of the Nebraska FCCLA State Officer Team, the State Peer Officer Team, and other chapter leaders about state and national programs, leadership development, and chapter management. Madeline Wittstruck, FCCLA National Executive Council Vice-President of Finance from Milford led sessions focused on introducing new members to the organization.   This year keynote speaker, Dean Jacobs challenged members to live a life wonder and humanity through generosity, gratitude, dignity, curiosity, humility, respect, kindness and community.   Students attended sessions designed for both new members and chapter leaders that provided information and activities that engaged students in learning more about FCCLA and leadership.

Attending from Howells-Dodge were seniors Tony Coleman and Megan Balsley, junior Harley Williams and freshmen Tori Smith and Chelsea Ramirez along with Student Teacher Emily Trenhaile and Marla Prusa, FCCLA Adviser.
