FCCLA Meeting Held January 7

The Howells-Dodge FCCLA Chapter met on Tuesday, Jan. 7 at 7:00 p.m.  President Kyle Pickhinke called the meeting to order following the opening ceremony.  The minutes of the December meeting were read and the treasurer’s report followed. 

 

Old business included thanking members for their help with concession stands, December projects and the Food Drive.  The District 5 STAR Events will be held in Howells on Wednesday, Jan. 29.  Discussion followed on plans for the contest.  FCCLA scholarships are available to seniors and application forms can be found at www.nebraskafccla.org.

 

New business included discussion of the State FCCLA Peer Education Conference in Kearney on Feb. 24.  FCCLA Week is February 10-14 and members planned activities for each day.  The chapter will also be taking orders for carnations, roses and large heart-shaped cookies for their Valentine’s Sales.

 

The meeting was adjourned.  Door prizes were won by Cassie Pieper, Kennady Schmidt and Abbey Pieper.  Lunch was provided by the sophomore members.  The next chapter meeting will be held on Tuesday, March 3 at 7:00 p.m.
