Launch the media gallery 1 playerSix students attended the UNMC Rural Health Care Career Day on the med center campus in Omaha on Tuesday, October 20. Attending students were Kalli Brester, Haley Eikmeiier, Sam Brester, Caitlin Klosen, Chelsea Bayer, and Emily Ritzdorf. Students were given a welcome by the director of recruitment and student engagement Channing Bunch followed by an introduction to rural health care opportunities from Dr. H. Dele Davies. The morning concluded with a student panel that discussed the challenges and rewards of medical school before Sherman Petite talked with students about preparing for med school and increasing their chances of acceptance. The afternoon featured three thirty minute break out sessions where students chose from fourteen different health careers and were able to meet with professors, students, providers, and doctors to learn more about their fields of interest.
