Howells-Dodge Seniors Graduate May 12

The Commencement Ceremony for the Class of 2018 was held on Saturday, May 12 at 5:00 p.m. at the Howells-Dodge Gymnasium in Howells.  The processional song “Pomp and Circumstance” was played by Mr. Wayne Molacek.   Members of the junior class led the procession carrying candles.  Junior leaders were Erin Prusa and Mitch Yosten.  A welcome was given by Paul Smith, class vice president.  Mr. Mark Ernst introduced Salutatorian Dax Ernst and Valedictorian Jordyn Brester who both gave speeches.  Guidance Counselor Pam Bazata presented scholarships to the graduates.  The seniors presented a rose to their parents, while the class song “Five More Minutes” by Scott McCreery was played.  The class video, created by Ryan Macholan, was shown.  Superintendent Jeff Walburn presented the seniors.  Board of Education President Heather Macholan presented diplomas to the following 25 graduates:  Connor Blum, Jordyn Brester, Jordon Brichacek, Brittany Cech, Saul Curiel, Javier Delgado, Perla Delgado, Elijah Henrickson, Macey Kulhanek, Miles Kulhanek, Luke Larson, Zachary Lund, Ryan Macholan, Miah Nathan, Lindsey Pickhinke, Ellie Sheaks, Jose Smith, Paul Smith, Katelyn Steffensmeier, Kierra Stewart, Rebecca Swanda, Holly Tomcak, Dax VanLengen, Emily Wragge and Jon Yosten. 

           

Class colors are black, white and maroon.  The class flower is a white rose with maroon tip.  The class motto is “If your goals don’t scare you, they aren’t big enough”  - Ellen Johnson Sirleaf.  Senior class sponsors are Mr. Jordan Brabec and Mrs. Marla Prusa.
