Members Earn Honors at State FCCLA Leadership Conference

Forty-nine members of the Howells-Dodge FCCLA Chapter attended the FCCLA State Leadership Conference in Lincoln on April 7 – 9 at Pinnacle Bank Arena.  FCCLA members from around the state attended sessions, listened to speakers, participated in competitive events and received award recognition.

 

Gold Medal winners were:  State Runners-Up and National Qualifiers in Focus On Children Sr. - Callie Jackson, Kelci Hansen, Micah Risch; State Runners-Up and National Qualifiers in Sports Nutrition Jr. - Brooklyn Macholan, Lilly Praest, Ashlynn Throener; State Runners-Up and National Qualifiers in Sports Nutrition Sr. - Audrey Coufal, Cara Dvorak, Janessa Schmidt;
and 3rd Place in Entrepreneurship Sr. - Bridget Praest, Alyssa Cappellano, Tony Coleman.

 

Silver medal winners were:  Chapter In Review Display Sr. - Desirae Haase, Megan Balsley, Kaydence Cech; Chapter Service Project Display Sr. - Jayda Bazata, Lexie Brester, Logan Fiala;
Chapter Service Project Portfolio Sr. - Jacob Tomcak, Brady Lund; Food Innovations Sr. - Tonya Brester, Erin Prusa, Jessi Brester; Hospitality and Tourism Sr. - Alyssa Coufal, Madyson Cech;
Illustrated Talk Sr. - Harley Williams, Shelby Risch; Interpersonal Communication Jr. - Sasha Perrin, Kennady Schmidt;  Interpersonal Communication Sr. - Grace Kreikemeier, Taya VanLengen;  Life Event Planning Sr. - Jill Grovijohn, Cassie Pieper, Riley Pokorny; and  Promote and Publicize FCCLA! Sr. - Hannah Bayer, Grace Dvorak, McKenna Klosen.

 

Receiving Bronze medals were:  Advocacy Sr. - Chloe’ Pieper, Courtney Bayer, Neleigh Jensen;and  Parliamentary Procedure Sr. - Josh Brester, Kade Hegemann, Lane Hegemann, Mitch Yosten, Kyle Pickhinke, Darrin Pokorny, Alex Recker, Luke Rocheford.

 

Harley Williams represented the Howells-Dodge Chapter as a State Officer Candidate. Michaela Hegemann was the recipient of a State Power Of One Award.  Also attending were FCCLA Adviser Marla Prusa and sponsor Rhonda Bartling.

 

The Howells-Dodge Chapter earned the following awards:  State Gold STAR Chapter Award, Red Rose Chapter Award, Nebraska National Program Student Body Award; Nebraska National Program STOP the Violence Award, Families First National Program Award, STOP the Violence National Program Award, 1st Place Chapter Development Award, FACTS National Program Award, Outstanding Nebraska National Financial Fitness Award, Outstanding Nebraska Families First Award, Outstanding Nebraska Career Connection Award, Outstanding Nebraska Student Body Award, and Outstanding Nebraska Community Service Award.
