Welcome Back!
I would like to welcome the Jaguars to the 2019-2020 school year! I hope that the students, staff, and patrons enjoyed their summers and recharged for another school great year ahead.
Personally, I am looking forward to my second year as the 7-12 Principal at HD. I have no doubt that this school year will be even better than the previous. I look forward to students filling the hallways and the countless activities that take place nearly every night in the fall.
As fall gets going, I wanted to pass on some information about the upcoming school year. HD will have a couple new faces on the staff. Ms. Paige Ballinger will be joining our staff and providing services in Special Education. Ms. Ballinger graduated from Wayne State College this past May and we look forward to adding her to the staff. Another new face will be Mrs. Sara Franzluebbers. Mrs. Franzluebbers taught previously at Logan View and now will be our Media Specialist and Title I coordinator. We are excited to have these two individuals on staff at HD!
As mentioned in the parent letter, HD will be hosting an open house on Monday, August 12th from 5:00pm to 7:00pm at the Howells site only. This will be for incoming 7th graders and new students entering the district. This will provide these students to become familiar with the building and get answers to any last minute questions.
I am very excited for the school year to get underway. Our staff is second to none and continually strives to provide the best education possible and has done much work over the summer to prepare for the upcoming school year. Our staff is what makes HD such a great district and I look forward to supporting them throughout the year.
Lastly, I want to wish the students a great year ahead! Go Jags!
