Howells-Dodge Graduation Held August 1

        The graduation ceremony for the Class of 2020 of Howells-Dodge Consolidated Schools was held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 1 at the gym in Howells.  The processional music  was provided by Wayne Molacek.  The welcome was given by Alex Recker, Class Vice President.  Principal Cole Fischer introduced the class salutatorian, Courtney Bayer, and she shared her speech with the audience.  Next, he introduced the class valedictorian, Madyson Cech, who presented her speech.  Pam Bazata, Guidance Counselor, announced the scholarship awards received by the graduates.  The seniors presented a rose to their parents while the class song, “Even Though I’m Leaving” was played.  The senior slideshow, created by Darrin Pokorny, was shown.  Superintendent Mark Ernst introduced the seniors and Board President Heather Macholan presented diplomas to the students.  The turning of the tassels and closing were led by Grace Kreikemeier, Class President.

 

            The 23 members of the graduating class are:  Megan Balsley, Courtney Bayer, Alyssa Cappellano, Madyson Cech, Kendall Coleman, Alyssa Coufal, Charles Dvorak, Kelci Hansen, Michaela Hegemann, Wyatt Hegemann, Tristan Kleinschmit, Grace Kreikemeier, Logan Nelson, Kyle Pickhinke, Darrin Pokorny, Alex Recker, Micah Risch, Luke Rocheford, Trevor Schumacher, Austin Steffensmeier, Carter Throener, Taya VanLengen and Nina Vogel.

 

            The class colors for the 2020 graduating class were black and sky blue.  The class flower was a white rose tipped in sky blue.  The class motto was  “What looks like the end is often the beginning.”
