FCCLA members earn medals at National FCCLA STAR Event Competition
Eight members from the Howells-Dodge FCCLA Chapter competed in this year’s virtual National FCCLA STAR Events this summer. The members created a video presentation and submitted event materials online for their events. Winning gold medals were Michaela Hegemann and Kaydence Cech in Food Innovations Level 3. Silver medalists, who placed 10th in the nation in Sports Nutrition Level 2, were Brooklyn Macholan, Blair Fiala and Carly Bayer.
Also winning silver medals in Nutrition and Wellness Level 3 were Audrey Coufal, Janessa Schmidt and Cara Dvorak.
The Howells-Dodge FCCLA Chapter was honored to receive the National Runner-up Award in Families Acting for Community Traffic Safety and $500. The chapter also was awarded the Nebraska Families Acting for Community Safety Award. This $500 award was made possible thanks to the generous sponsorship of Ford Driving Skills for Life and the Governors Highway Safety Association (GHSA).
