FCCLA Members Earn Honors at the 2022 National Leadership Conference

    Ten members of the Howells-Dodge FCCLA Chapter attended the 2022 FCCLA National Leadership Conference in San Diego June 29 - July 3.  In the National STAR Events competition, members earned the following awards:  Gold Medals and Top 10 in the Nation -  Brady Lund, Ashlynn Throener and Landon Dobbins in Chapter in Review Level 3; Silver Medals and Top 10 in the Nation -  Lilly Praest, Abbey Pieper and Kennady Schmidt in Nutrition and Wellness Level 3; Silver Medals - Brooklyn Macholan and Morgan Gall in Sports Nutrition Level 3; Silver Medal - Shelby Risch in Professional Presentation Level 3; and Silver Medal - Amy Praest in Nutrition and Wellness Level 2.

    The conference theme was "Make It Count" and members were among over 7,000 members from around the country who attended a variety of sessions and conference activities.  The Howells-Dodge Chapter was recognized as the Nebraska FACTS winner and recipient of a $500 award.  Howells-Dodge also received a Lead4Change $500 grant to promote preschool literacy.  While in San Diego the group went to Coronado Beach, enjoyed a harbor dinner cruise and visited the San Diego Zoo as part of the conference activities along with their chapter adviser Marla Prusa.
