FFA Members Excel at Land Judging Contest

Twenty-five members from the Howells/Dodge FFA Chapter joined 435 area FFA members for the Northeast Regional Land Judging Contest in Emerson, NE on October 3rd. The contest is based on the ability of students to correctly judge land on certain characteristics and recommend land treatments for this land. Members of the Howells/Dodge FFA Chapter came away from the competition with many high awards. Purple ribbon winners from the chapter were Trevor Schumacher and Logan Nelson. Trevor ended the day 7th while Logan was the 8th place individual. The chapter also had the 3rd place overall team which has qualified for the State Contest which will be held in Scribner later this month. That team was comprised of Trevor Schumacher, Logan Nelson, Wyatt Hegemann and Carter Throener
Other statistics from the day include seventeen of the twenty-five members receiving ribbons. Only the top fifty percent of participants are eligible to receive a ribbon. Congratulations to all FFA members on their performances.
