Cyclones compete in the NEN Vipers Tournament

On Saturday, August 29, the Highway 91 Cyclones traveled to Wisner to compete in the annual NEN Vipers Softball Tournament. The Cyclones’ first game was against the Class B Malcom Clippers. The Cyclones battled for 5 innings, but lost 15-2. At the plate, Allie Dirkschneider hit a single, scored a run, and had 1 RBI. Reann Bruhn scored 1 run. Bailey Rios hit a double and had 1 RBI. In the circle, Reann and Matelyn Rayback each had 1 strikeout. 

For the second game, the Cyclones faced the O’Neill Eagles. This was a successful game for the Cyclones, as they took home the victory 10-2. At the plate, Grace Hansen hit a double and scored 1 run. As the courtesy runner, Lexie Bruhn scored 3 runs. Matelyn hit 2 singles, scored 1 run, and had 3 RBIs. Shaylynn Marty had 1 RBI. Reese Bruhn scored a run. Dani Dirkschneider had 2 hits and scored 1 run. Allie hit 1 double and had 3 RBIs. Bailey hit a double and had 2 RBIs. Reann had 1 hit, scored 3 runs, and had 1 RBI. Reann and Lexie were feeling fast on the bases, with Lexie collecting 2 stolen bases and Reann collecting 3. In the circle, Reann had 3 strikeouts. 

For the third game of the day, the Cyclones took on the Logan View/Scribner Snyder Raiders. After a long battle in the sun, the Cyclones fell short to the Raiders 1-9. At the plate, Matelyn had 1 hit and 1 RBI. Reese and Reann each had 2 hits, while Dani and Bailey each had 1. Reann also had a stolen base and a strikeout against the Raiders.
