The Jags blow out the Bees
The Jags had an impressive first game of the season, defeating the Bloomfield Bees 42-8. To start the first quarter, the Jags had a great series ending with an 8-yard rushing touchdown by Oliver Belina. They finished out the quarter with a touchdown from Andrew Brester and Oliver Belina, with a score of 20-0. The Jags continued to dominate in the second quarter, ending with a score of 36-0 at the half. To start the third, the Jags played great defense and caused the Bees to go three and out, but neither team scored. In the fourth quarter, the Jags scored one touchdown and gave up a score to Bloomfield. The final score was 42-8, with the Jags landing on top.
Oliver Belina led the way with 152 rushing yards, followed by Blane Stutzman with 60, Andrew Brester with 41, Levi Cada with 36, and Chase Luther with 10 total rushing yards. Combined, the team ran for 299 yards. Chase Luther led the way with passing yards, completing a 21-yard pass to Jax Nelson. Luther also led the team with 4 tackles, followed by Briggs Ernst and Jarrett Perrin with 3, Jax Nelson and Andrew Brester with 2, and Blane Stutzman, Levi Cada, Oliver Belina, Garrett Radcliff, Braxton Stutzman, Jimmy Ratzlaf, and Parker Jensen each had 1 tackle. Cole Bayer also had a fumble recovery. The Jaguars will compete in their first home game on Friday, September 4th, against Aquinas Catholic with kickoff starting at 7 pm.
