Jaguar students win literature quiz bowl

Five Howells-Dodge students attended the Nebraska Literature Quiz Bowl in Seward on September 16th with exciting results as they ended the day as the champions in the small school division. The team consisting of Addi Beeks, Shayla Gall, Norah Noyd, Ella Martin, and Emma Lienemann finished the day with a record of 6-1. They recorded wins over Humphrey, Heartland, and Fullerton and a loss to Hampton in the round-robin format of the tournament. The ladies went into the single-elimination bracket as the second seed. They received a bye and then defeated Heartland to place themselves into the championship match, where they were able to outlast Hampton. Area Women's Club members Bernie Baumert, and Diane Uher were helping to facilitate the event and presented the trophy to the team.
