Jaguar Quiz Bowl competes in history competition
Eight HDC students traveled to Seward to compete in a History Quiz Bowl on October 7th. The competition focused on the history of the United States and featured questions focused on the past 250 years of our country. The students were divided into two teams and did a nice job of answering a variety of questions. They competed in a round-robin style competition in the morning, which seeded them for the afternoon's single-elimination bracket. The team of Isaiah Coufal, Levi Cada, Sam Rocheford, and Addie Dobbins stayed close to their afternoon competition with a tied score when a last-second answer by the opposing team sealed the match. The team of Maura Cada, Brooklyn Faltys, Reid Meyer, and Blaine Sindelar was able to advance past the first round of competition, but suffered a similar loss in the second round, losing the match by one question. Overall, the teams were able to recall quite a bit of knowledge related to the history of America.
