Lady Jags fall to the Mustangs in four

The Lady Jags hosted the Stanton Mustangs in Dodge on Tuesday, October 8th. They went on to lose a close match in four sets. The first set was a tight battle until the end, but the Jags came up short, losing 23-25. In the second set, the Jaguars asserted their dominance, defeating the Mustangs 25-15. The Jags didn’t have enough left as they went on to lose the next two sets, 19-25 and 17-25.

Statistically, for the Jaguars, sophomore Reagan Bayer led the team in kills with 14, followed by senior Kylie Brichacek with 12, seniors Audrey Brabec and Bella Koliha with 8, and senior Isabella Wegner and junior Riley Svehla with 7 each. Behind the service line, Reagan served 2 aces, and both Riley and sophomore Brynn Throener had 1. At the net, Isabella and Riley each totaled one block. Riley led the team in assists, dishing out 43. Defensively, Kylie led the team in digs with 21, followed by Brynn with 19, Riley with 18, senior McKenzie Sindelar with 15, and Reagan with 12. 

When asked her thoughts on the game, senior Isabella Wegner said, “I thought we started off strong and fought all the way to the end. We will probably see them again, so we’ll be prepared.” 

The Jags will host a triangular in Howells on Thursday, October 8th, facing Humphrey Lindsay and Laurel-Concord-Coleridge starting at 5 pm.
