Close battle for the Cyclones

On September 18, the Highway 91 Cyclones took on NEN in a hard-fought battle.  The final score was 4-3. A close one for the girls tonight.

Batting went solid, as Brittney Faltys batted .500 and Mattie Rayback led the team with a .667 batting average. By the end of the night, there were 6 runners left on base. Allie Dirksneider had 1 of the 3 stolen bases. The girls played the field well, boasting an impressive .857 fielding average. Multiple girls on the team had a 1.000 fielding percentage, which helped hold NEN to only four runs the whole game.

The Cyclones took the lead in the fourth inning after answering back to NEN’s run, which they scored in the third. The Cyclones then held the lead up until the bottom of the seventh, even scoring another run in the sixth. Sadly, they couldn’t keep that up as NEN scored 3 runs in the bottom of the seventh to take the lead and eventually win the game.

It was a good night of softball for the girls; sadly, this one just didn’t go their way tonight.
