Cyclones travel to Lakeview tournament

On Saturday, October 13, the Cyclones went to Lakeview to compete in a tournament against the Adams Central Patriots, Boone Central Cardinals, and Logan View/Scribner-Snyder. For the first game, the Cyclones played against Logan View/ Scribner-Syder, where the Cyclones had a loss of 9-0. The Cyclones got 17 people at bat, junior Allie Dirkschnieder was at bat twice, and freshman Dani Dirkschnieder and sophomore Brittney Faltys were at bat once. They had a total of 5 hits for the game, with Dani and Allie each having a hit. The other hits came from senior Emma Bernhardt, junior Reese Bruhn, and junior Reann Bruhn. Only one of the Cylones got walked by Logan View/ Scribner-Syder, and it was Brittney. There was a total of five strikeouts, one of which was from Brittney. This game, they didn’t get any runs in.
The next game played by the Cyclones was against Boone Central, where the Cyclones lost again, 1- 9. The Cyclones this time got one run, which was from senior Hannah Cech. Although Allie was only at bat once, she had one RBI, and then Dani had one of the three hits from being at bat twice. Brittney was also at bat twice but struck out one out of the two times. Both Reann and Allie had one stolen base during the game. This had the game ending at a 1-9 score.
For the final game for the Cyclones, they beat the Adams Central Patriots with a score of 9-7. With the total of 9 runs from the Cylones, two of them came from Allie and one from Dani. The Cyclones had 6 hits in the game, with one coming from Brittney, and she had 2 RBIs during the game as well.
Here is what junior Allie Dirkschnieder had to say about the tournament, “We had a rough start to the morning, and that showed in our first 2 games. In the last game, we were able to come together and get a win. I hope we can stay on track after that game and keep the winning streak going.”
