Another Bacon Bowl win for the Jaguars
At 7 pm on September 5th, the Bacon Bowl against the Patriots and the Jaguars took place in Howells. The ending score of the game was 20-12 with the Jaguars winning the Bacon Bowl again. This makes the Jaguars 2-0 for this season.
In the first quarter of the game, Hunter Luther had a 20-yard touchdown for the first points of the game. They got the two-point conversion with a pass from Dane Meyer to Konner Bourek. Later in the first quarter, Hunter Luther makes a 10-yard touchdown, making the score 14-0 at the end of the first quarter. In the second quarter, Dane Meyer makes a 34-yard pass to Andre Martin for a touchdown. Then at halftime, the score was 20-0. In the third and fourth quarters, the Jaguars weren’t able to score against the Patriots, which led to the ending score of 20-12.
This is what senior Andre Matrin had to say after the Bacon Bowl, “We started off pretty good, then after halftime, I think our intensity levels sort of dropped off, and we kind of underestimated the team coming into the half. Overall, we probably just need to fire up a little more.”
This Friday, September 12th, the Jaguars will play the Lyons-Decatar Cougars in Lyons at 7:00 p.m. for their third game of the season.
