HDC pulls out on top against Archangels Catholic

The Howells Dodge Jaguars played Archangel's Catholic on October 17th in Howells. The Defenders kicked the ball to start the game off, with Oliver Belina returning it to the HDC’s 22-yard line. Both teams trade punts, then Hunter Luther gets the ball and runs it down the sideline untouched, scoring and making the two-point conversion good. With that, that makes the score 8-0. The next drive for Howells-Dodge was a bad snap over the head, and the Defenders got the ball. The Archangel Catholic scored right on the first drive on that ball with the two-point conversion good, making the score 8-8.
Second quarter rolls around, and the Defenders make their way down the field, scoring another touchdown and the two-point conversion, making the score 8-16 HDC down. Archangels throw a ball down the field, scoring on it, making the score 24-8. HDC responds to that with Dane Meyer scoring the next touchdown with the two-point conversion, making the score 16-24. HDC gets the ball back with Hunter Luther taking it down the sideline for another touchdown, and the two-point conversion being good, making the score 24-24.
Entering the fourth quarter, Dane Meyer throws the ball to Oliver Belina, with Oliver scoring on the pass. With the two-point conversion good, that makes the score 32-24 HDC up. The Defenders end up scoring with the two-point conversion good making it 32-32 in the fourth quarter. HDC gets the ball back with Hunter Luther getting held up, and has a great run down the field. Dane Meyer ends up running it in a few plays later, scoring for HDC, making the score 40-32 with the two-point conversion good. The Defenders make a couple of good throws down the field, with the end of the game leading to an interception by Andre Martin. The Jaguars knee the ball with the game ending and the final score being 40-32. Howells Dodge won the game with an 8-0 record and as District Champions.
