Jaguars take down the Cougars
Friday, September 12th, the Jaguar football team traveled to Lyons to take on the Lyons-Decatur Northeast Cougars. In the first quarter, the Jags scored 8 points. Here are some of the stats from the game. Junior Chase Luther passed for 56 yards, had one carry, and had 9 tackles for the night. Hunter Luther had 147 rushing yards on 11 carries, 4 tackles, and also scored 2 touchdowns for the team. Konner Bourek had seven tackles, 56 receiving yards, and scored 2 touchdowns. Andre Martin had 3 solo tackles. Briggs Ernst had one sack and 7 tackles. Oliver, Levi, Nathan, and Andrew all scored 1 touchdown. The Jaguars secured a shutout victory with a final score of 62-0.
Coach Speirs had this to say about the game, “It was good to see the boys take control of the game early. It was also good to get a lot of playing time for the younger players.” The Jaguars will take on Nebraska Christian in Central City on September 19th, starting at 7 pm.
