Speech team continues its dominance
On Saturday, January 31st, the Jaguar Speech team traveled to Sandy Creek to compete in the Highway 74 speech meet. Each member presented their event three times and then was awarded plaques based on their performance. The team is already halfway through their regular season, and is hoping to continue working hard during February. Coach Sindelar said,
“The speech season is moving along quickly with a lot of progress being made. This group is focused and determined, which makes coaching extremely fun.”
The results from the speech meet in Informative Speaking are Isabel, champion, Alessa, 5th place, and Annemarie, 6th place. Annemarie received a runner-up finish in Interpretation of Poetry. The team had multiple teams in Oral Interpretation of Drama, including Cooper, Garret P., Isabel, Nathan, and Noah, who were the champions. Allie, Isabella, Isaiah, and Jose were runner-ups. Addie D., Emma, and Tenley placed 4th. Audrey, Gabe, Garrett R., and Jimmy placed 6th. Entertainment Speaking results were Allie in 3rd place and Noah in 5th place. In the Interpretation of Serious, Annaleece was the champion, and Alessa placed 6th. Addi Beeks placed 4th, and Alessa placed 6th in Program of Oral Interpretation.
At Sandy Creek, the Howells-Dodge Speech team had the top 4 in Duet Acting. Garret P. and Noah Coufal were the champions. Cooper and Isaiah finished as runner-ups. Addie D. and Tenley received 3rd place. Gabe and Jose finished in 4th place. We had three individuals place in the Interpretation of Humorous. The runner-up was Isaiah, Cooper was 3rd, and Garrett R. was 4th. In Persuasive Speaking, Isabel received 3rd place, and Kylie D. received 5th. Shayla received 4th in Extemporaneous Speaking.
The Jaguar Speech team will continue their season with another meet on Friday, February 6, at Osceola.
