Jaguar Track Team Travels to Concordia

On Friday, March 20, the track team traveled to Concordia University in Seward, NE, for their first meet. To start with, the running events in the mens 60 meter dash, Andrew Brester, Jax Nelson, and Grant Perrin ran, with Grant making finals and getting fifth place. In the womens 60 meter dash, Maura Cada, Audrey Praest, and Jordyn Hamata ran. Next for the 200-meter dash on the boys' side, Andrew Brester, Jarrett Perrin, and Grant Perrin all ran, with Grant placing second. For the 200-meter dash on the girls' side, Maura Cada, Reagan Bayer, and Avery Bayer ran. In the 400-meter dash, Oliver Belina, Gabe Martin, and Luke Belina ran for the boys, and Jerzie Haferland and Norah Noyd ran for the girls' 400-meter dash. In the 800-meter run for the boys, Luke Belina and Gabe Martin ran, and for the girls, Dani Dirkschneider and Shayla Gall ran. For the men's 1600-meter run, Cael Jones ran, and for the men's 3200-meter run, Noah Coufal placed third. Two boys competed in the 60-meter hurdles: Andre Martin, placing first, and Isaac Meyer. In the girls' 60-meter hurdles, Avery Bayer competed, and Jordyn Hamata placed eighth place and Audrey Praest placed second. In the girls' 4x400-meter relay, Norah Hoyd, Avery Bayer, Audrey Praest, and Jerzie Haferland were on the relay team. The boys' 4x400 relay team, consisting of Andre Martin, Jarrett Perrin, Oliver Belina, and Isaac Meyer, ran in the relay. For the last running event being the boys' 4x800 meter relay, Noah Coufal, Gabe Martin, Luke Belina, and Cael Jones placed fifth as a relay team. 

Next is the field events, Tenley Ernst participated in the girls' shot put, and the boys, being Briggs Ernst and Brody Johnson. In the girls' discus, Kylie Brichacek placed fifth, with Peyten Becker and Tenley Erust also competing. There were two boys discus throwers, who were Briggs Erust and Jax Nelson. Andre competed in the high jump and placed fifth. Isabella Wegner placed fifth in the girls' long jump, with Reagan Bayer and Shayla Gall also competing. For the boys' long jump, Oliver Belina, Isaac Meyer, and Jax Nelson all competed. Finally, for the boys' triple jump, Noah Coufal got fourth, with Jimmy Ratzlaff also jumping. In the girls' triple jump, Kylie Brichacek got second, Isabella Wegner got third, and Norah Noyd also jumped. The track team is off to a great start, and we wish them luck with their season!
