First game fight

Last Friday, December 5th, the Howells-Dodge boys varsity basketball team took on the Stanton Mustangs in the season opener. HDC won the game with 73 points, and Stanton had 22.

Nathan Tomcak led the team with 17 total points on the night and 3 threes made. Dane Meyer followed that up with 12 points, and then Ethan Prusa with 9 points. The team finished with 15 defensive and 8 offensive rebounds. In charge of the rebounds was Nathan, leading with 4, but the boards were pretty evenly spread out through the team. The Jaguars also finished 60% from the field and 67% from the free-throw line.

Head Coach Kevin Janata said, “The boys did a great job of pushing the tempo and applying defensive pressure, resulting in forcing 27 turnovers. It was a great team win with 11 Jaguars notching points in the books”. Overall, it was a good night for the boys' basketball team, and they're looking forward to a good season ahead.
