Clash of HDC and St. Mary’s

The Howells-Dodge boys traveled to Grand Island on Saturday, February 14th, where they would participate in the Heartland Hoops Classic. The boys played at around 10 in the morning against the number 1-ranked team in Class D1, St. Mary’s. Senior Nathan Tomcak had a big game; he had 21 points, 6 assists, and a total of 8 combined offensive and defensive rebounds. The second leading scorer was senior Andre Martin with 14 points, followed by junior Chase Luther, who had 12 points and 8 defensive rebounds, then came senior Ethan Prusa, who scored 10 points. Senior Dane Meyer had 7 points and 5 total rebounds. The team ended up having 8 offensive rebounds and 24 defensive rebounds for a total of 32. The boys won their game 68-56. On February 20th, the number 1-ranked team, Howells-Dodge, will play the number 2-ranked team in our class, Lutheran High Northeast, at Lutheran High Northeast, with junior varsity starting at 6 pm.
