Howells-Dodge FCCLA Meets October 9

The Howells-Dodge FCCLA Chapter met on Thursday, October 9 at 7:00 p.m. at Howells-Dodge Consolidated School.  The meeting was called to order by Morgan Baumert, President, following the opening ceremony.  Members were thanked for assisting with face painting at the Ribfest, Adopt-A-Highway Clean-up and concession stands.  District 5 Leadership Conference is Monday, October 20 at CCC Columbus Campus.  All members will leave at 8:15 a.m. and return by 3:43 p.m.  The conference theme is "Branch Out with FCCLA" and members are encouraged to wear their FCCLA  chapter t-shirt and jeans.  Lunch will be provided.  Members volunteered to lead the mixer for the morning session.  Casey Smith will be installed as District 5 President.  Members were reminded about the poster contest and creed speaking contest.  Carter Bracht is our chapter's State Officer Candidate.  The Adopt-A-Grandparent project and Secret Member gift exchange were discussed.  Members were invited to sign up for District STAR Events which will be held in St. Edward on Jan. 21.  Red Wheel Food Sales orders should be handed in on Friday, October 17.  Delivery is on Saturday, Nov. 8.  The chapter made plans for their Teen's In the Driver Seat seat belt survey.  Chapter members will be giving a presentation on October 27 to kick off Red Letter Week for the elementary students.  The chapter will have the concession stand for the football game on Friday, October 24.  The meeting was adjourned.  Door prizes winners were Shelby Hegemann, Tessa Brester, Emily Ritzdorf and Jesse Faltys.  Lunch was served by the seniors.  The next meeting will be Monday, Nov. 10 at 7:00 p.m.
