Howells-Dodge FCCLA Meeting Held August 27

The Howells-Dodge FCCLA Chapter held their first meeting of the year on Monday, August 27 at 7:00 p.m.  A spaghetti supper was enjoyed before the meeting.  Following the opening ceremony, Mitch Yosten, President, called the meeting to order.  The 2018-2019 officers were introduced:  District 5 Vice President of Special Events - Erin Prusa, President - Mitch Yosten, Vice President - Jessi Brester, Secretary - Hannah Bayer, Treasurer - Lane Hegemann, Publicity Chairperson - Tonya Brester, Historian - Kyle Pickhinke, Power of One Chairperson - Bridget Praest, and Recreation Chairperson - Darrin Pokorny.  New members were welcomed.  

The FCCLA Fall Leadership Workshop will be held on Monday, September 17 in Kearney.  The FCCLA fundraiser will begin at the beginning of October.  The chapter t-shirt will be designed by Tonya and Jessi.  Members volunteered to help with the Rib Run in the morning and Face Painting from 3:00 - 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 8.  The chapter will meet to do Adopt-A-Highway Clean-up on September 10 at 6:20 p.m.  Sign-up sheets will be posted for upcoming Concession Stands. Chapter Parents for 2018-2019 are Kevin and Chris Brester, Brian and Amy Brester and Mark and Mary Prusa.

The District 5 FCCLA Leadership Conference will be held on Monday, October 15 at CCC in Columbus.  Members were selected for Creed Speaking Contest and were given information about the poster contest.  District STAR Events will be held on Wed., Jan. 30 at High Plains in Polk.  

The meeting was adjourned.  Door prizes were given by Darrin Pokorny to Lexi Tupaz. Jessi Brester and Kade Hegemann.
