Lady Jaguars basketball crushes the Cougars
On Friday, December 19, the girls' basketball team traveled to Lyons to face the Lyon-Decatur Northeast Cougars. The Lady Jags were able to smoke the Cougars with the ending score of 58-20. In the first quarter, the Lady Jags only allowed the Cougars to score 2 points and were able to score 20 points just in the first quarter. Going into the second quarter, they scored another 17 points, and the Cougars scored only 6 points. At the end of the half, this brought the score to 37-10 with the Lady Jags still in the lead. Coming back from halftime, the girls scored another 16 points on the Cougars, and they couldn’t catch up, only scoring 8 points in the third quarter. Going into the last quarter, the Lady Jags were only able to score 5 points, and the Cougars scored 4 points. Leading the team in scoring was Audery Brabec with a total of 14 points in the game. On the free throw line, the Lady Jags had a 61% at the end of the game. For shooting on the night, the Lady Jags girls' basketball had 50% shooting. On the defensive side, the Lady Jags had 14, with Kylie Brichacek leading the team with a total of 4 defensive rebounds.
