Tough win for the Lady Jags

The Lady Jags took on the Wisner-Pilger Gators in Wisner on Friday, January 16th. With only 2 minutes left in the 1st half, Howells-Dodge only led by 3 points. After that, though, the Lady Jags went on a 32-9 run over the Gators to finish the game with a final score of 50-30. While Howells-Dodge struggled with the zone-defense at first, they quickly adapted and shot 80% from 2-point range.

Coach Polacek said, “Both teams couldn’t figure each other out at the start, and their zone caused us to throw several unnecessary passes. We finally got some baskets to drop and went on a nice run. That was a big game for us in the EHC.”

Quarterly scoring:

Howells-Dodge: 7/14/17/12  Final: 50

Wisner-Pilger: 4/7/5/14  Final: 30

Leading the team in points was junior Kylie Brichacek with 18 points, junior Peyten Becker with 9, senior Kenadie Throener with 7, junior Maura Cada, and junior Audrey Brabec with 4. Junior Bella Koliha and McKenzie Sindelar with 3 points, and freshman Addison Heard with 2. The most assists were recorded by McKenzie Sindelar with 7 and Kylie Brichacek with 3. Leading the way in rebounds was Kylie Brichacek with 7, McKenzie Sindelar with 6, and Audrey Brabec with 4. The Lady Jags continue to win these big games, and they are ready for the next.
