Follow-Up Seat Belt Survey Held Jan. 17

The Howells-Dodge FCCLA Chapter conducted a follow-up seat belt survey at Howells-Dodge Consolidated Schools before school on Tuesday, January 17.  The survey showed that 89% of drivers were wearing a seat belt.  80% of passengers wore seat belts as well.  In the previous survey, 87.5% of drivers were wearing seat belts and 64.2 % of passengers were wearing seat belts.  Seat belt use has improved among drivers and passengers.

Assisting with the survey were Nathan Hegemann, Rylan Nelson, Connor Kreikemeier, Rylan Dane Meyer, and Cooper Kreikemeier.  Each driver and passenger was given a granola bar with the message “Chews” to wear your seat belt every time you drive or ride.  The Howells-Dodge FCCLA Chapter encourages everyone to buckle up.  This project was done as part of the FCCLA Families Acting for Community Safety program in conjunction with Teens in the Driver Seat.
